ELWOOD VISITS 5TH GRADE CLASS AT PAGE PRIVATE SCHOOL
AS THEY LEARN TO CREATE MEMORY BOOKS
EACH 5TH GRADER AT PAGE PRIVATE SCHOOL IN ORLANDO, FLORIDA IS PROVIDED WITH A MEMORY BOOK THEY GET TO PUT TOGETHER HOWEVER THEY WANT. EACH STUDENT IS PROVIDED WITH A THREE RING BINDER AND A FEW SUPPLIES TO GET THEM STARTED.
THE CLASS WAS BROUGHT TOGETHER TO TALK WITH A CREATIVE MEMORIES CONSULTANT ABOUT DIFFERENT WAYS TO PUT THEIR ALBUMS TOGETHER. WE SAW HOW TO USE PICTURES, ARTWORK AND OUR OWN WORDS TO TELL A STORY ABOUT US. IT WAS FUN TO SEE THE KIDS JUMPING UP AND DOWN TO LOOK AT ALBUMS AND PICK THEMSELVES OUT OF PICTURES. I WAS INVITED TO COME ALONG TO TELL THE CLASS ABOUT MY STORIES AND HOW I KEEP MY STORIES ON A WEBSITE WHERE LOTS OF PEOPLE READ ABOUT WHAT I'VE SEEN AND THE PLACES I'VE BEEN. WE HAVE DIFFERENT WAYS TO TELL OUR STORIES BUT THEY ARE A LOT ALIKE. WE ALL LIKED HAVING OUR PICTURE TAKEN TO GO ON MY PAGE.

KEEP WRITING YOUR STORIES AND I'LL KEEP WRITING MINE!
I JOINED THE VOLUNTEERS AT FREEDOM RIDE
HOSTED BY A UNIVERSITY STAFF MEMBER, ELWOOD WAS SO EXCITED ABOUT GOING TO VISIT WITH THE RIDERS AND VOLUNTEERS AT FREEDOM RIDE (THERAPEUTIC RIDING FOR THOSE WITH DISABILITIES) THAT HE HARDLY SLEPT THE NIGHT BEFORE. HE WAS "STUFFED" WITH PIZZA BEFORE BEING SENT TO BED, BUT THE ANTICIPATION WAS SO GREAT THAT HE SAT ON A ROCKING CHAIR IN THE LIVING ROOM ALL NIGHT LONG. HE PROBABLY DIDN'T SLEEP A WINK!
MORNING DAWNED BRIGHT AND CLEAR AND BY THE TIME WE ARRIVED AT THE BARN, 8 O'CLOCK, IT WAS ALREADY HOT AND HUMID. ELWOOD WORE HIS FREEDOM RIDE T-SHIRT AND WAITED QUIETLY ON A BENCH FOR THE RIDERS TO ARRIVE FOR THEIR CLASSES. HE MET ASHLEY, AMANDA AND DAVID AND AFTER THE KIDS ASKED LOTS OF QUESTIONS, THEY ALL POSED WITH HIM FOR THE CAMERA.
