WHILE VISITING A WESTERN MOVIE SET, I GOT NABBED FOR SPEEDING, BY THE LOCAL SHERIFF.
ELWOOD VISITED A STAGE SET OF AN OLD WESTERN TOWN, JUST LIKE THE ONES THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN USED IN THE MOVIES. ELWOOD GETS TO SEE CLOSE UP WHERE GENE AND OTHER WESTERN HEROES DISPATCHED THE VILLIAN AT THE END OF EACH PICTURE.

I HAPPEN ACROSS ONE OF MY OWN CALIBER!

ELWOOD SPENDS A FEW MINUTES CONVERSING WITH VENTRILIQUIST DUMMY ELMER SNEEZEWEED. ELMER BELONGED TO VETERAN WESTERN SIDEKICK AND ACTOR MAX TERHUNE. MAX AND ELMER STARRED IN THE LONG RUNNING SERIES “THE THREE
MESQUITEERS” AND MANY MORE WESTERNS IN THE 1930’S AND 40’S.

I TAKE A MOMENT TO REST, BEFORE SHOVING OFF ON MY NEXT ADVENTURE.

ELWOOD IS A LITTLE TO YOUNG TO REMEMBER GENE AUTRY, BUT MANY CHILDREN FROM THE 1930’S THROUGH THE 1950’S SPENT COUNTLESS HOURS WITH HIM IN A DARKENED MOVIE THEATER OR IN FRONT OF A BLACK AND WHITE TELEVISION. AND WHAT CHILD HASN’T SUNG ALONG WITH “RUDOLPH, THE RED-NOSED REINDEER” EVERY YEAR AT CHRISTMAS. GOD SPEED MR. AUTRY.
